This is the place to start your Cisco certification study. It’s basically two books in one: the first 6 chapters introduces networking basics, and the rest of the book focuses on Cisco’s implementation of routers and switches.
While useful for the ICND1 exam, which gives you the CCENT certification, most people use this book along with the ICND2 Exam Cert Guide to prepare for CCNA. The CCNA content is simply too much to cover in depth in a single volume. This book covers roughly half of the CCNA content – the topics also on the ICND1 exam. The ICND2 Exam Cert Guide covers the other half of CCNA content, specifically the topics on the ICND2 exam.
